Vans Warped Tour: San Diego 2017
It has been a few years since I last went to Warped Tour. I either saw all the bands already that year or just wants into the line up but 2017 line up was pretty good. It was basically throwback central to my high school days, which makes me feel old. All the bands I listened to in high school are now the "old school bands".
The show kicked off with Silverstein, I always love seeing them live. They have been a band for over 15 years and still put on a great show. Hands Like Houses are amazing live, I love jamming out to their music. And I am so looking forward to their new album. My favorite band of the night was Beartooth. I don't have words for how much I love Beartooth. They are a relative new band ( I discovered them at a Silverstein show back in 2015) and they just crush it every time. Beartooth is not a band to sleep on. I have a feeling they are going to explode and go places. To me they feel like the next A Day to Remember or Bring me the Horizon; in the scale of popularity and how fast they are growing.
It is sad to say that there is only one year left of Warped Tour. Near the end of 2017 Warped Tour announced they are hanging up their boots. A end of a era indeed. I started going in 2005, went to 9 in a row and then a few here in there since. My family and I also traveled to several different cities over the years. It makes me sad that younger kids will never get to go to Warped Tour and experience it all. But, I understand why they are ending. I have no hard feelings 24 years doing an event to this scale has to be hard. I'm looking forward to the line up for this year and I am excited to be going one last time. Who even knows I maybe going to a couple of shows this year.
